Mr. Broad是有眼光的慈善家

Mr. Broad 今天來到the Broad Institute, 宣布他跟他太太再捐4億美金給我們。前後五年期間，他們夫婦已經捐了六億美金。

今天的盛會看到很多平常都不會看到的人，如:麻州州長，David Baltimore, 1975年諾貝爾獎的主，也是Mr. Broad跟Eric Lander的介紹人; MIT校長及Harvard校長。Broad 的公關真的很厲害，請了諸多名人(Bill Clinton)來說說對the Broad Instiute的印象。他們倆投身於公益社會的貢獻，Mr. and Mrs. Broad了解他們的財富對於整個社會的意義在於創造更好的世界(Making a better world). Their contributtions are widely distributed in arts and the Broad Institute is the first time for them in science to make more understandings of diseases.  I believe this is a good way to spend the money because only by this way, the fortune becomes meaningful to the society. (我的中文爛到這段話不知道要怎麼以適當的辭彙表達)

可惜這四億美金我什麼都拿不到，可能只有上班時多點吃吃喝喝的日子吧。要趕緊想辦法換到Broad Institute的payroll，如此一來這四億美金對我才有實質上的幫助!

Eli Broad, 富比士美國富豪排行42，立陶宛裔，20歲買進人生第一筆不動產，之後成立KB home房產開發公司，以賣平價房屋致富。而後進成立Sun american Insurance 保險公司，於1998年以美金180億賣給AIG公司。
